NEW BEGINNINGS

Updated: Oct 5, 2024

A new year, a new website, lots of new ideas for teaching meditation, and new ways to explore our services. New beginnings, I am sure my fellow travelers on this amazing roller coaster ride called life, you have considered a few, or maybe many as Rosalba and I have this New Year. New beginnings infer doing new things and changing towards new ways to do what we did previously.

This is where many of us start to feel nervous and doubt ourselves. How many times have we bravely announced to the world I am going to change my diet and loose weight I am going to drink less, give up smoking, do yoga once a week, meditate every day!! Only to find in a few weeks time that we have stubbornly persisted in our old ways and have apparently failed to make any changes. I have heard people saying "Oh I can't be bothered with New Year resolutions they never work. How many of us resign ourselves to our current state and feel that we do not have the power to change our lives? This is of course a huge subject that will come back to very often, but to start with I would like to offer a few thoughts that may help and encourage you to engage your creativity towards change and beyond: deep transformation.

Thought number 1: Imagination is a very powerful tool that needs to be used and exercised in the creative process. It can give you lots of useful information about the challenges you face in your creative endeavor. As you imagine your self being and doing what you want to, how does it make you feel? This is the place for your imagination to play, to explore through the different senses: how this feels, smells, how you see it? Which colors, shapes and so on, use your most acute senses and explore the not to acute ones, so that you develop the skills. Imagining and visualizing is a skill, the more you practice it the better you become at it.

It is possible that some negative feelings and beliefs are lurking in your subconscious as you start with this process. This is the chance for you to engage with these limitations, feelings and emotions. Facing these shadows can open a big window towards our more light, positivity and empowerment.

Thought number 2: Emotions play a huge part in motivating us one way or another. If we are feeling stuck and unable to move, Is important to ask oneself: What are the emotions that we are holding on, and are in the way for me to achieve, be happy and in alignment with my highest goals and purposes?

Often we need to find courage to face emotions that we are holding, they are usually hidden and suppressed; but what a relief when we accept that we are attached to resentment, sadness, guilt or an endless host of negative feelings. The very act of accepting them, activates the processing and releasing. As we let these feelings go we open up to more positive emotions to support our creative projects. We create space in our mind and consciousness.

Thought Number 3: Use positive emotional states. Be playful, have fun, enjoy, and go for it, as they say nothing ventured nothing gained. We wish you well in your New Beginnings and look forward to hearing the stories of your adventures. Taking risks is daunting, we can start taking small risks, little challenges can go a long way

Although the work is from the inside our, we live in an era of communication and there are lots of resources and information out there to support our growth and explorations. No one is going to do it for us but we can access support with this clarity.
